Illegal contract. You can do 5 years with the 6th year as an option. If you wanna do 6 years with an option then you'd have to have a minimum contract of $25m per year.

NOPE,
YOU can offer your RFA'a a 6th year with an option for a 7th year.
to prove you can offer a 6th year, see Minimum Salary Scale
SH 6th year RFA
and
Max Offers for RFA's in each league: Salary Hoops: 6 years/$25M per
so the 6th year is not an option but can only be offered to your RFA's

So.... Where's the $25 per in your contract?

Re: Blake Griffin (LAC-PF) RFA C
The max is 25M per season for 6 season. no whare does it say i can't offer less on the 6th year. I just know the bird right i can open the 6th and let the market decide what he is worth.

Matching
structure: $25.00 $24.00 $21.00 $17.00 $13.00 = $100M + option year

That structure doesn't work Dan, you can only drop 25% of the average salary which is $2.5
MistaDuMa- Dedicated Member
Re: Blake Griffin (LAC-PF) RFA C
Option year will be $25. Rulebook states that nothing goes over $25, so let's keep it like that.

Re: Blake Griffin (LAC-PF) RFA C
Then why has Kyle Lowry had an option for $27.5 for the last three years? He's been so far off my radar because of that

Re: Blake Griffin (LAC-PF) RFA C
If that is the case can I add the option year to Cousins please? I didn't want it because I thought his salary would be like over $30m that year.

Re: Blake Griffin (LAC-PF) RFA C
Yeah Dustin is fixing up anything thats over $25.
And thats fine, DC, you didn't know about it so you can have the option.

I called in to question the option year rules and asked for rule book review.
SAM has spoken and now all option year are Max 25M. so i'll PM Dustin to fix when he has time!

Cousins was an rfa, you matched so if the winning bid did not offer it, you would not be able to apply.Dalpsar wrote:If that is the case can I add the option year to Cousins please? I didn't want it because I thought his salary would be like over $30m that year.

Re: Blake Griffin (LAC-PF) RFA C
So hold up a second here. You said in that same thread earlier that if I bid on Cousins he would no longer be an RFA ("if your going to bid he become a UFA"), so I couldn't really raise the bid on that end. Then when I match, I can't add to it either? So I literally have no say in the bidding process? When technically any FA in real life would accept more money.

Re: Blake Griffin (LAC-PF) RFA C
1st) Cousins was an RFA. you open the bid with what ever you wanted to open with. you could have maxed him from the get go and offer an option year. that was up to you.
2) GM who have RFA right only have the right to match the winning bid. whatever the bid is we match it. so if he would have ended at 5year for $15M per, you would not have a problem with it. final bid is what it is.
3) YES you could have bid on him at anytime, but you would have lost your RFA Matching rights and he would have become a UFA.

Re: Blake Griffin (LAC-PF) RFA C
so if you would have bumped it up, then basically you give every team head of you on the FA MAX priority list the right to match your maxed offer to add the option.
like what happen with LBJ MI was #1 on the list
Now
La Jolla is #1 (team that maxed him so if you would have bid the option year La Jolla would have stole him from you). so you should be Thanking ME
Havana Sons
Los Angeles Busters
Canton
San Diego
Tijuana
Philadelphia
Las Vegas
Akron
DC
Sydney
Michigan
