Damn just saw this. Sydney its an illegal bid cause you're only suppose to have 1 bid left. Make sure the bids remaining, contract years, total contract, and structure are accurate or it counts as an illegal one. This goes for everyone else.

Shouldn't Sydney get it? Dustin said in the josh smith thread that since it doesn't affect the total contract that it's just a small oversight.

It's Sam in this thread that agreed that Bids Remaining and Age were not a legitimate reason to call the bid illegal.

I said to Sam I understood and I accepted I made a error. Having said that I don't want there to be one rule for some and not others, not trying to cause issue I will be fine and move in from whatever decision, but its got to be consistent.

Here what i think, the're some important factor in Bidding, i i think that any error in the bid make the bid illegal period. 

BID# ( can effect how another owner views the bid and how they bid) 
same goes for Total Contract and Years of the Deal. 

the structure need to add up to both # years and Total Contract. if there is an error it effect how other view the bid. I have said before in BOS and VSF as Commish i will not point out errors. but when i see them in Hoops i try to point out, I lost BOSH this off season due to error. I was told i could keep, but I honored my error. 

If Dustin let one past in the offseason and no one else questioned it then so be it. but the rule is the rule. We need to follow the rule or people will not learn and just not care about mistakes in bidding. 

PS i still make mistakes, see my bid last week on OJ Mayo. and i pointed it out to Darren (the othere Bidder) and Sam (commish) so that they knew and when bid was over SAM can review and award to correct winner. If we follow the rule then there would be no questions about fairness. 

WE add Age and years in some leagues because that may matter when process. in BOS # of year in league also matter in bidding with 5+ year rules. 

SO mistake effect the bidding process and should not be allowed or awarded for making them.

I'm super ecstatic how some of you know exactly whats exactly said and whats not said. When suggestions are asked to help improve the league with covering up potential loopholes, nobody seems to bat an eye and doesn't say a word. Everyone's just out looking for themselves.

Although in that ruling I did say that bids remaining should not be looked at as important, it actually does because it dictates if other people will or won't keep bidding. This isn't always the case, but it's pretty important in most cases. I've lost guys on accidental wrong bids with GRONK. In fact I found this in the rulebook (Section: Free Agency, #3), so this ruling will always be the case in any hoops bid. 

Posting a Bid: When bidding, you must post the players name, team, and position in the "Title of the topic". Post with the number of bids remaining, player’s age, number of years of the player’s NBA experience, length of contract, total of contract, contract structure, and if you’re offering a club option. Inaccurate info means invalid bid.



I'm done being lenient/nice with small/minor mistakes, either take the time to make it right or stop being lazy and look stuff up. Look, I've always been one of the few to point out mistakes on bids in the past. But just looking at how most of you just sit back and don't say anything, I figure it would make sense for bids to either be accurate or not.

This sentence was a later addition to the rulebook.  It was added without anyone else's knowledge.  I know because i have a copy of the rules and its not in there.  This keeps happening.  

Not a big deal.  When I read the rules over and over and that phrase was not in there, I thought...well as long as the contract is valid and they have the number of bids to make a valid bid, well then it's legal.  You agreed a month ago.  I didn't consider it a loophole so there was no reason to address it.  But some people like Dan are really against it.  Thats fine too.

But now we know, it won't be tolerated anymore.  It just makes sense to get clarification when one ruling is made one way a month ago and a different way now.  I apologize if I caused problems by doing that a month ago but Sam agreed with me.

Yeah sam agreed a month ago, but we can all agree it best to follow the rule book, now changes to the rule book IDK. 

But if it just to fix this lope hole about Illegal bids ? Errors posting then so be it. just make it a fact now.
