Auction Draft Rule: BOS

Post by HELLFISH on Mon Feb 06, 2017 11:06 am

Pick 113 to 128 Draft Auction.

Pick 113 will begin 2/7/2017 at 9am EST/ 6 am PST.

Starting bid: 1M
Outbidding Min 500K

3 bid per GM
If a pick Bid reaches 3M
i will begin the following pick (as time can be an issue).

ALSO, to avoid any misunderstand.
if you win for example win auction forpick 116 and we are still bidding on pick 113. you ARE NOT allowed to draft player until first pick 113, then 114 are drafted.

One thing am changing. to be fair to each team
Pick 113 - 128 are signed one per team.
if no bid is made on the pick then rights to pick go to GM assigned, GM would either pay 1M or release the pick and lost to all.

it will follow the draft order.
so 2017 8th

113 - New York
114 - Durham
115 - Fountain Valley
116 - Rocky Mountain
117 - Texas
118 - Detroit
119 - Rockford
120 - Canton
121 - West Virginia
122 - Michigan
123 - Sudbury
124 - Philadelphia
125 - Ann Arbor
126 - Tijuana
127 - Toronto
128 - Akron

Just to clarify- the money we are bidding is from our war chest? And does not count against our current year cap

war chest money is always in the war chest.  You have to make a withdrawal for it to become money you can use.

money is from cap once bidding is all settled, GM may have to pull $ from war chest.

Hey guys, I'll get Peter to at least put a message on here.  He just had his 4th boy two months ago and got promoted last month.  He just has no more time to put into fantasy.

His 3 other boys are playing ice hockey and winning trophies and championships.  Draft them in FCC in 10 years! haha

I have an owner that wants in. He's an experienced guy with fantasy. Maybe not as familiar with the salary cap but should pick it up quick. Been talking with New York and the other waitlist guy was unreachable.

Maybe next year, we auction the pick from 126 to 113. giving more value to the last auctioned pick(s).

i think the 113 pick should cost more then the 126?

makes sense.  Then all picks must be auctioned off before players can be drafted?

Or leave it the way it is.  All about supply and demand here.  So the early bird gets the worm so to speak.

we have time on our side. so auctioning out all pick first then drafting will work!

Eh, remember that the new owner came in and started bidding with half the draft gone.

Had he been here from the start, prices would be diff.

or we just open all 16 at same time and let market work it's magic?

We could do the auction before the draft. I don't really care if pick 126 costs more than 113; that's how auctions go--you pay what you think something is worth

Agree with Phil. You can`t say what pick is worth more than the other in an auction format. It`s what the market will bear.

Yeah, I like the current format. Guys are bidding with players in mind. So as guys go off the board or remain in play, it will drive the prices.

It would make less sense to have guys bid for picks before Rd 8 begins not knowing if they're target is still around at their pick.

So in Mark's words, "stop trying to change everything. If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Laughing
