Bonus Talk 2.0 (BOS)

Post by HELLFISH on Mon Jun 10, 2013 3:49 pm

Ok this is what am thinking guys!

we will vote in offseason!

dump current system!

New System would be as follows:

Player of the Week (AL and NL): 100K player must be on any 25-Man roster to begin match-up.
Trade mid-week bonus goes to new owner.

Player of the Month(AL and NL): 500K player must be on any 25-Man roster to begin 1st match up of month and entire month. Trade mid-month bonus goes to new owner.

League MVP: $1M, will be a BOS VOTE, All player's of the month which received Bonus will qualify and top 3 Yahoo Ranking. Any tie for top spot will have run off between top voted, then Commish tie break vote. So if we have tie for 1st between 2,3,4 players then you have run off with only those players and Commish vote will count as two in the case of a tie.

League Cy Young: $1M will be a BOS VOTE, All player's of the month which received Bonus will qualify and top 3 Yahoo Ranking. Any tie for top spot will have run off between top voted, then Commish tie break vote. So if we have tie for 1st between 2,3,4 players then you have run off with only those players and Commish vote will count as two in the case of a tie.

League Fireman: $1M (minimum of 35 non-started games) will be a BOS VOTE, All player's of the month which received Bonus will qualify and top 3 Yahoo Ranking. Any tie for top spot will have run off between top voted, then Commish tie break vote. So if we have tie for 1st between 2,3,4 players then you have run off with only those players and Commish vote will count as two in the case of a tie.

Hitter’s Awards
Batting Title: $500k
Top 3 HR Leaders: $500k each
SB Leader: $500k
30/30 Player*: $1M (Any player that goes 30 HR/30 SB)

Pitcher’s Awards
SP Strike Out Leader: $750k
RP Holds Leader: $500k (Highest Ranked in a tie)
SP (3) QS Leader $500 (Highest Ranked in a tie)

Give me your thought - pro and cons, this is not final but would clear the air on the bonus

Woulda liked to have seen a Trout/Miggy vote!

But, Trout shoulda won in real life anyway. Glad he won here Very Happy

I liked my bonus system before, but def am getting behind this, as us voting would be fun.

I like it except for- top 3 hr hitters- 30/30 players-Holds-QS. I just don`t see the need for these. The other awards are good and the voting will be fun.

I like voting system too. Was against awards system in the past because I found it too arbitrary. I like the structure of what Dan has drafted. Keeps the awards legitimate.

I don't care one way or the other. As long as they're set in writing and not arbitrarily given, I don't care

Thats your problem Phil. You don`t care about anything. The only input you have is mostly negative or confrontational. Thats been your MO over the years.

And my input is backed up with examples, facts & logic. I said I don't care if we do this, meaning if we do, great; if we don't, great. How neutrality is negative is beyond me.

My sole request is that, if we do awards, which I still remain indifferent on, they are specified ahead of time & not given on a whim.

I didn't realize ambivalence was so controversial. From henceforth, I will always check with Mark for my opinion & side completely with him. I will weigh in on every single discussion

LOL

That last part of your post totally strengthens his negativity opinion.

You were doing so well in your rebuttal, but just 'had to go negative'

hahahahahhahaha

Just saying that we always disagree which is why I'm viewed as negative. If I'm on his side I will not be negative.

Sorry I feel that listening to opposing views brings the best solutions to problems. I'll undo the last 31 yrs of life & learning I've done

Only thing I don't like is the Top 3 homerun bonus. I don't see why #2 and #3 should receive a bonus.

Only thing I don't like about league voting is it can be biased while yahoo rankings has no bias whatsoever.

But this is an issue I don't have a lot of opinion on. Whatever awards we agree on are fine.

I like the talks,

I think we turn this into vote in winter meetings.
1) the voting system will stay
2) yes some bonus are a bit much and we may remove a few i was just going off what we current have and trying to come up with a fair balance between Batters and Pitchers

if you guy have any ideas they are welcome for the Hitter/Pitchers bonuses

Hitter’s Awards
Batting Title: $500k
Top 3 HR Leaders: $500k each
SB Leader: $500k
30/30 Player*: $1M (Any player that goes 30 HR/30 SB)

Pitcher’s Awards
SP Strike Out Leader: $750k
RP Holds Leader: $500k (Highest Ranked in a tie)
SP (3) QS Leader $500 (Highest Ranked in a tie)

again this is 2.0 am trying to set up a new bonus system that will be final and have some league input i.e. voting #smacktalkwelcome.

I have gotten to a point that we can bust balls and not get all but hurt with each other!

Eh, i mean guys voting for players or not voting for certain players because they may or may not like an owner. It affects their decision. I saw it in football several times.

That's more what I'm talking about, where Yahoo doesn't care.

good point, D

at least with yahoo ranks, we have something completely unbiased

tho, if the argument is yahoo ranks are for roto or w/e, im sure there is something else we could use to get an accurate portrayal of our individual league
