VSF 2021 Draft

Hello All,

I am posting here because I can't post on the VSF league boards-

We need to get the VSF Draft process going. Just a reminder that it starts the 3rd week of May (May 17th) and goes until May 31st with no time limit. From June 1st to the end of June it is a 24-hour clock on picks. 

For Draft Order- By letter of the law picks 1-8 are based on last years regular season standings with picks 9-12 being determined by playoff finish. With that the original draft order (minus any pick trades) is:

1. Michigan Panthers
2. Green Bay Hackers
3. NC Blue Heels
4. San Fran Gingers
5. Buffalo Stampede
6. Minnesota Jackalopes
7. Oregon Waterfowls
8. Los Angeles Musters
9. Keeping Austin Weird
10. WV Moonshiners
11. Tijuana
12. CA Fat Bastards

We also have the unenviable task of replacing our late commissioner who always competed his ass off year over year and kept us on time. It's not a light transition, but if anyone has someone in mind, please share with the group.

If you find someone to take over the commissioner duties, I will take over Tijuana. I just don't have the what it takes to fill his big shoes.

I’m a little confused by the wording in the rule book on the draft order. Above looks like it’s just the reverse order of regalar season standings. Oregon won the entire thing yet has the 7th pick. Is that how we’ve done it in the past?

I can take over commish duties if we can’t find anyone else. I’d rather try to find someone else first though since I’m already doing BoS. Jimmy you seem like a good choice lol.  Also, Jay offered to help with BoS, maybe he’s willing to do it for VSF? He’d be a good choice as well.

I’m willing to take over commish duties if I get voted in. Want to help get this rolling however I can. 

Yeah- I guess I was bringing up the draft order because it does seem interesting. By the wording in the rule book- only seeds 1-4 get sorted by their playoff finish even though we have 6 playoff teams. Is this something we want to look at as a league?

Eric- would love to have you back. I just know Sam was asking around too and don’t know if he ever got a response.

That is one thing that has always bugged me about the leagues we do here. The standings don't reflect playoffs. Only leagues I'm in where that is the case.

I'm definitely in favor of reseeding the playoffs teams they way they finished in the playoffs.

Hey guys, I cannot create a Topic in the Draft Thread, but I did do the draft order with the trades included.  Right now I know we are searching for a replacement owner for Dan, so I put his Spot in the draft as formerly of Tijuana.  Dan/Tijuana didnt own any picks, they were all traded to Minnesota.

I say let’s get a jump on it and set a deadline for anyone who wants to be commish to indicate so in here. (Maybe by this Sunday night?). Then we give it two-three days for everyone to vote. I don’t think there’s a huge hurry right now, but if we wait around we’ll end up with the same situation we had in BoS with confusion on who was taking over and people getting worried that things were falling apart.
