Re: Lance Stephenson (Mem-SG,SF) FA
I believe this is an illegal move.
The deadline to sign free agents was at the end of week 19 according to the schedule.
A player can only be signed if you can't field a 12 man. Teletovic is not injured

oh wow, apparently this was week 19.
I guess this is legal but the schedule is clearly wrong. The schedule says there are two more weeks before the playoffs and the playoffs are in weeks 22,23 & 24.
I don't ever remember being able to improve your team the day before the playoffs unless it was for an injury replacement.

I think that was not updated when we moved to 6 teams lat year.
FA should close during the season, but them are the rules.

Re: Lance Stephenson (Mem-SG,SF) FA
Well this is what is in the rulebook

F/A Deadline: After the deadline date, all bids will be final and awarded to the last team to post a legal bid. Free Agency will be closed for the remainder of the season. The trade deadline is also the free agent deadline. At 12:00 AM PST. Salary Hoops has an exception for the deadline. See Salary Hoops Rosters/ Free Agent Deadline Exception.
So according to the rules, the trade deadline and free agent deadline are the same except for the exceptions found in the Rosters section (ex: hardship exception etc)
I would think that rule was created to prevent just a case like this, where a competing team would add a late hot free agent and would directly alter a playoff matchup.

Free Agent Deadline Exception Free Agent Deadline Exception: After the deadline, if a team has a player get injured the team can make a roster move to cover the injured player. The teams roster must have 12 active players.

Re: Lance Stephenson (Mem-SG,SF) FA
Well this isn't even a hardship exception
This was just a straight up FA signing. The player he cut to make room for Stephenson, Teletovic is not hurt.

with have 4 guys on the IR (hurt/out) he did not have to make room has hardship allow you to always have 12 player (full yahoo roster)

so then can you do that?
just cut and add players as much as you want if you have 4 hurt guys?

but yeah, if Mirza Teletovic (Pho-SF,PF) IW was the 12th player. you not/ or should not be able to drop him for different player.

Nowhere in the rulebook does it explicitly state you can't waive a hardship exception and sign someone else.
Perhaps we can revisit this in the offseason, but this is legal.

Re: Lance Stephenson (Mem-SG,SF) FA
According to Rosters - Rule #10
This move is illegal
After the deadline, there is only one exception to make a move. A roster move can only be made IF a player gets injured.
1) Teletovic did not get injured
2) A roster move (not multiple moves, one).

also say
"Once the playoffs begin this exception cannot be used"
playoff start today and today is the day your signing a player!

Re: Lance Stephenson (Mem-SG,SF) FA
The bid was made Week 19, so this qualifies as before the FA deadline.
As long as the bid wasn't made AFTER the deadline it's fine. It's exactly the same as when you make trades before the deadline, and they get approved after the deadline. That is legal.

Well if we are going to arbitrarily go by an incorrect schedule, then playoffs aren't for two more weeks

Again.
when did we change the deadline. cuz rule is

Also the Schedule on the contract page was from 2 years ago before we went to a 6 team playoff.

And when I say arbitrary, I mean the rulebook says the trade deadline and the free agent deadline are the same (except for hardship excpetions)
So are we going by the rulebook or by a schedule on the contract page that is clearly wrong and outdated.
But it's fine. I don't want to argue you into this. In no league do we let guys sign free agents the week before playoffs so I was hoping you would just realize this is just wrong.
It is what it is.

Um technically, what I'm doing is perfectly legal so you can shove your passive aggressive shit up your ass.
I'm using the rulebook where the trade deadline is the free agency deadline, but I can sign guys before the playoffs because of the hardship exception. The argument can be made that hardships exceptions should be allowed to swap since the owner has no leeway with his IR (plus it's still costing him money).
I'm going to be the bigger man here and just reverse it and bring Mirza back and drop Lance, since this is clearly a loophole in our rulebook that I'll change after the season.
Also, maybe it would help if you pointed out that the contract page was wrong beforehand and stopped using it merely to update your own roster (minus MKG), maybe you'd have spotted the Jae Chowder mistake yourself.

Re: Lance Stephenson (Mem-SG,SF) FA
Not it's not legal. The hardship exception isn't for a player that was hurt in the past. Once you sign a 12th healthy guy, thats it...unless one of those 12 gets hurt. Saying you can just cut and resign all the guys you want after the deadline just because you have the same 4 peeps hurt is ridiculous.
But it's just part for the course with you as commissioner. Of course you wouldn't know the schedule for your own league and then pass off blame for me not catching it.
Your apathy year after year is awesome.
Now I added some sarcasm to go with my passive aggression.

Re: Lance Stephenson (Mem-SG,SF) FA
What are you guys talking about? I ALREADY reversed it and bought Teletovic back.
How is this cheating? No rules were broken. It's not stated anywhere in the rulebook that if the hardship exception is granted then you couldn't change it out with another one. This is a murky situation and that's why I reversed my move. How many times in the past in all our leagues have people went through loopholes which were legal, only to be amended in the offseason. Was that cheating then? This is a rare case when someone actually qualifies for this rule and used it. As commish, I realize how it's unfair for competitors like you guys, and that's why I reversed it, and expect to explicitly address this in the rulebook for the hardship exemption.
