Dougie Hamilton (CAR-D) IR
to the IR, this looks and sounds like a season ending injury, want to confirm I can use funds on a replacement.
- Coach Rod Brind'Amour is not counting on Dougie Hamilton (fractured fibula) being back in the lineup this season.
Advice: "It's a bad injury," Brind'Amour said Tuesday. He suffered a fractured left fibula Jan. 16 against Columbus and he underwent surgery a day later. Carolina hasn't announced a timetable for Hamilton's return beyond the star defenseman being out indefinitely.

Dougie Hamilton has undergone surgery to repair a fractured left fibula.
Advice: Hamilton sustained the injury during Thursday's game. He's listed as being out indefinitely, but beyond that the Hurricanes haven't provided a timetable for his recovery. This has been a huge setback for the Hurricanes. Hamilton was a contender for the Norris Trophy with 14 goals and 40 points in 47 games. He was also averaging 23:17 minutes, so the Hurricanes have a big hole in their defense to fill.

I'll treat him as LTIR. I'm sure he is out of the FCC season at least.
