That's not reasonable to determine considering things can still change before next year.

Bravo, I see where the problem is here. he not over yet but if he use any of his cap space this year it would place him over next. I know we use rollover in league but why are we showing the roll over on next year roster cap now, that should not be applied until the end of the season. Maybe we should look at the roll over rule this offseason where is it not given to you until the season is over. this would be a good example he has cap of 10M this year but can't move it because it will put next year roster in the RED

Even if we didn't show rollover on the next year roster, he doesn't have the room
And indy, he can't process if it doesn't fit for all years
How is it unreasonable? It's unreasonable if someone was allowed to go over the cap

i know he does not have room! that fact that any money spent on he salary this year well reduce his 3.25M left on next years cap. what am say is i don't like that we have the roll over showing. and may we should look at that.
Oh and yeah we have rules and it states we can never go over cap! sorry coop.

am typing to fast i should preview next time!
We should look at the roll over rule! It's nice to know we have it but we should no be allowed to use it until it is rolled over. thats what am trying to say!

i hear ya... but showing it is good, imo...
its our responsibility to see/know what our salaries are

Re: Glen Davis (Bos - PF, C)
I know it cool to see. but we should not be able to use it. We get into this problem where coop does have 10M this year but can't spend or move more then 3M. funny money. really either way your right we should know our Cap.

Re: Glen Davis (Bos - PF, C)
theres a flip side tho... if you dont show rollover, he woulda been over for next year and thus, certain transactions he did wouldnt have been allowed
so, hard to draw a line... cuz like i said, if things werent shown and he woulda been denied, he coulda cried saying he was technically legal cuz $$ woulda rolled over
i think things are fine the way that they are. we get a rough idea what our rollover is and if its over 20 mil, it will be adjusted
and of course, if we dont have the funds to process a transaction, it would be denied
seems simple

Tomato - TomAto either why he done spending and I 4 one know that feeling! lol, i just don't like spending cash thats not yours yet. I know he would have been over already, that is why i suggest it something we review for the future. i figure the roll over was for cap re-leaf for that up coming year and not a credit to begin spending it now. I guess it just how I live, I don't use much credit and like buying thing cash don't like spending cash i don't have yet! you know

Re: Glen Davis (Bos - PF, C)
well, i do kinda agree with that as i didnt know we could spend on the rollover early
in fact, i dont think we were supposed to be able to, but when the rosters were set up to show the rollover, i think maybe some of his transactions got in under the radar and it ended up like that
not really sure but i think thats how it looks... but in the case of davis, it's plain to see that he isnt able to be on indy due to not having the dough and thats what this all was about

The rollover is to simulate the softcap the nba uses.
If the money is there and using 1m for empty spots, everything will be fine.
Yes, indy does have to watch spending this year because he needs his rollover moeny. He does have 14 players under contract next season too I believe.

I personally don't think we should have the roll over amount shown on next season's money. I think we're all old enough to do simple addition.

I don't feel like it is crying at all. I just didn't know that the 3.25 next season wasn't an actual figure.

Re: Glen Davis (Bos - PF, C)
i dont see why this has even become a discussion! everything is fine and was fine.
where are we going with this?
it's very simple here.... you cant go over your salary cap! end of story. the rollover is going to be rolled over. so lets roll it over!

Re: Glen Davis (Bos - PF, C)
I think the point of discussion was that Indiana didn't know that the amount shown in next season's salary available included any and all rollover. I was also not aware of this but it didn't impact me much since I'm always broke anyways lol

was just a simple misunderstanding of that rollover thing
