Tarrytown Names Player(s) of the Week

The Tarrytown River Rats are pleased to announce that goaltenders Jonas Hiller and Kari Lehtonen have been named the Co-Players of the Week. Lehtonen and Hiller helped the River Rats sweep the Goalie categories in their week 1 matchup vs the Prague Goros. Lehtonen and Hiller combined with J.S. Giguere to post numbers that could remain in the record books for many weeks. A combined 1.47 GAA and .945 SV% are shocking considering that the River Rat Goalies combined for 8 starts. Lehtonen picked up 4 of the 7 wins, while Hiller posted the first shutout of the year for the River Rats.



Honorable Mention goes to Steve Downie. Downie led the club with 14 hits, which helped the team to a 109-108 edge in the category. Downie's biggest contribution was getting a 10-minute misconduct on his way to the penalty box after a fight Saturday, those extra 10 minutes led to a 76 - 66 win in the category!
