Using my buyout that I bought from LA to buyout Marcus Camby. He is due 9/9, would like to pay all 9 this year.

I want to point something out here. since NY is a new owner. and i really would like the new guys to step up and learn the rule and take advantage of them.

he did everything right in the post above except put his team at a disadvantage!.

understanding the buy out rule and salary roll over are important tools.

On the camby buy out your team would be better off paying 4.5 / 4.5. it would put your cap sal ava at 14.75 this year and 17.25 next year. now with or roll over rule, you add the 14.75 and to 17.25 next year. giving you 32M next year.

The way he did it puts team at 1.25M this year and 23M next year?

we would all take the 32M over 23M right?

I am totally confused now. My thinking was, buyout $9 now. Doesnt that cancel out with the $9 I am paying him this year?

So Cap hit this year: $10.23, cap hit next year $12.75 + $9?

on a 2 year deal it don't make difference. I was thinking you were paying an add'l $9.

so that keep your cap at 10.25M to roll over to 21.75 = 32M
