Grand Rapids GM released
Before the Toronto team could even move to Grand Rapids the general manager has been released. The new GM had been a no-show at games, had failed to appear at numerous investor events, and had refused to speak to the media. "We don't even know if the guy is alive at this point" said a senior staff member, "He showed so much excitement until the transaction took place, after that, we never saw him again."
Ownership has replaced him with a new manager and have already started moving the team to West Seneca. This will be the second team that has moved to the Buffalo area in as many years. Loyal fans of the Toronto team may find it easier to stick with the team here than they did Grand Rapids. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown commented that "The market is strong [in Buffalo] for Hockey and with any luck we will see an in city rivalry like Manchester United and Manchester City have in the premier league. This could bring a lot of attention and excitement to our city so long as families aren't torn apart by team loyalty."
An introduction by the new GM is expected soon.
In other news around the league negotiations have started with the Minnesota GM who may sign on to a 1 year deal with the team to see how things go.
