the situation is relavant, say JI wanted dirk but didn't have the cash, we could work out a deal where I match dirk and he trades enough salary where he can get dirk and I'm happy with what I get.

can't chat, I'm without my laptop for 2-4 weeks, it was run over by a car believe it or not and its being fixed thanks to my warranty. I understand where the rules coming from, but I just think if the sign and trade is agreed upon after the contract is final within a week a deal should be possible, it is in the NBA but I guess not here

it'd be here if the team that wants him is the high bidder

like pointed out above, high bid is equal to guy choosing his team in real life

one minor thing maybe we can add to blend the two is-- allow a team to bid higher on condition of a trade with matching team

meaning--- Dallas could talk to Wash about Al Jeff, and have deal agreed to pay AL Jeff max money, thus trumping sam's bid, but if deal doesnt pass tc, then sam's bid wins

other than that, it's gotta be higher bidder

as Thai pointed out RFA's in the NBA dont get to sign and trade. When theyre matched that's then end of it. At least here you get a chance to get something in return by the highest bidder if you dont want him.

bravo, really you never gave anyone a chance to really think about. i understand changing some rules on the fly, like the kidd issue, but a rule like this should have been given a chance to really be reviewed by every team. and JI you keep saying that the highest bid here it like a player choose where he signs and offer sheet, well it's not that! i just feel that this is a handcuff. just cause some team has the cap to post the highest bid. another team with player our wold rather have now can't deal? i won't say anything more on this unless am asked to. rule has been pushed in.

lol just pushing your button you know and i know teams voted but i really don't think some guys really think about the vote.

I feel we should but rule like this up see the pro's and the con's then put to vote. you know

i do kinda agree that in the future we should have a full day of debate before vote

this is a fair rule tho and most see it as reasonable

but yeah- i think in the future have a full day of debate--- its just in this situation, with time as an issue, we had to get a vote going on what people liked

otherwise, an rfa matched n traded elsewhere woulda fucked everything up

time is the issue.

when we have our meetings next offseason bring it up dan. we can discuss everything you want.

there are 2 rfa's left.

lets not go shit house over nothing.

we can discuss everything in the off-season for months. i'm always looking to make the league as good as it can be. i'm pretty sure everyone knows that.

make your list.
