Its a typo in the 2011 book. I copied baseballs rules and missed the edit.
Hoops 2 rfa
Baseball 3 rfa

Re: Troy Murphy PF,C IND
I'm going to veto the extension. Paying Troy Murphy $18.75M is too high considering he can use 1 of the 3 team options after the season.

Is this for real or a joke, I'm having a hard time telling. Either way it doesn't matter I just want to know.

Re: Troy Murphy PF,C IND
it's for real. im not approving an extension for 19m for troy murphy when he can give him an option after the season.
i explained to him other options and he didnt realize he could do that.
all transactions go through the commissioners office in pro sports so why shouldnt they here too.

Like I said I don't have a problem with it, but money given to players I don't think that concerns the commish. Ron Artest should have got a lot more this year but decided to play in LA, I don't think the commish can block that cause a guy should get more or less money than the Commish thinks

Re: Troy Murphy PF,C IND
i would normally have a prob with something like this too
but i think bravo's point is valid. philly wasnt aware of the rule changes (due to all the voting and such) and acted under the old system
now, if philly STILL wants to do this, then it should be okay. but given that he can use a team option, i highly doubt he does
commish is just doing a commish thing here and thats being fair

Like I said I don't care if Philly wants to do it or not, it is up to him I'm just making sure it is his decision and not the Commish's

Re: Troy Murphy PF,C IND
yeah, i think commish only vetoed cuz philly wasnt aware of new rule- which is fair, considering all the changes
ill leave it up to philly to chime in on how he wants to proceed

Re: Troy Murphy PF,C IND
ya i would much rather use the option than the extension, i remember a while back having a dilemma with having only 2 RFA matches and having murphy, martin, and granger all ending their contracts the same year, then i realized we dont have much longer to assign extensions, and i totally forgot about the new option system we put into place, didnt know if i could do that this year, or start with it next year... so ya i would much rather use the option than the extension. Once again, srry for the mixup
