Also if we continue with an draft lottery option.  If any team outside of the selected group for fantasy wins the lottery, their pick will be skipped and the 2nd highest team that matches with one of our fantasy teams will be given first overall.

The 5th and 6th teams arent in the lottery? Whats the NHL lottery system like? Is it only a bottom 4 lottery too and if not..what happens if a team not in the bottom 4 wins it?

Beginning in 2013, the draft lottery was changed so the winner automatically gets the 1st overall pick, and all other teams move down 1 spot.

I choose something else:

Bottom 6 teams are set with their NHL counterparts and participate in the Lottery via the NHL Entry Draft Lottery with the 6 playoff teams decided by final playoff placement. (So winner of the cup gets last pick, last place in the playoffs gets 7th overall)

If team outside the top 6 wins, no change.

It looks like standings for playoff teams will definitely be based upon playoff standing (cup winner gets 12th)

I think i am going to open another vote for a simple draft lottery vs. no draft lottery poll just to make it easier
