When were the payoff settlement rule changed to allow us to settle up the balance in any way? I missed that vote? Or did I forget we voted

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that the buyout has to be all upfront or spread out evenly over the years.
You can't back load the payout to protect the team if the owner leaves and it is structured in such a way that by the time it gets paid, he is long gone.
Not saying you ever would but you get the idea

Contract Buyout Settlement: A team has the option of settling the contract in a lump sum or if the player has more than one season left on his contract the buy-out money can be distributed over the remaining seasons. If the player is owed more money because of a buyout, the owner may distribute the money however he would like.

I screwed up and I'm 5.6 million over in 2019 the way I did the buyout. Sorry intention was to make roster legal, which I committed to do, you can just move 5.6 million of that 11.13 to this year. That will make the roster legal.

okay as of now, the structure is
6.575/6.5/7.55/5.5
Adds up to 26.125 and makes the roster valid for this year and beyond
