Hoops Free Agent Talk
Let's move all free agent talk to here.
This is so the time stamps are accurate. Ideally, a person would log on and go to the free agent section and all the times would show the last bids on the player. Then it is easy to see how long the last bid was and how much time they have to bid before the 24 hours is up.
Feel free to trash talk or use your strategic comments to get people to bid or not bid on players here lol

Good idea making a trash talk thread. Best value deal thus far? Marc Gasol?

Re: Hoops Free Agent Talk
Yea I should have just bid on Gasol and Drummond. No point in trying to be nice
Lesson learned
Drummond and Gasol were great deals. Even if they bust, those contracts are easily bought out...but they won't bust. We know who they are by this time.

I learned something new today.
Well you sure knew the rule on your first Serge Ibaka contract as his first year was like $25 mil and his last year was like $11 mil.
DmanofGod1 wrote:That's not the rule.
The 25% is how much the salary can change from year to year. Since the average salary is 10.4, the most it can change per year is 2.6 mil but that does not mean that there is a minimum or maximum.
This bid is legal as no year changes more than 2.6 mil.
Look at Black Griffin, Aldridge, Westbrook ..etc contracts
As far as I can tell, bid is legal

I guess I knew and then forgot it. I like this version of the rule better since it allows you to be even more flexible with salary structuring.DmanofGod1 wrote:DalpsarDmanofGod1 wrote:That's not the rule.

Wouldn't bosh get his salary cleared if he's not able to play anymore?

I think he has to officially retire, cause he's still trying to come back to play

He thinks another team will allow him to play. Will prob drag over a year even if he doesn't get into another team.

Re: Hoops Free Agent Talk
Yeah, so I'm prob stuck with him for at least a year, gonna check the rulebook to make sure, but I think thats it

What do I do about jrue holiday? He's out indefinitely to take care of his wife

Re: Hoops Free Agent Talk
Unfortunately, unless a guy is retired, that's the reason we have 15 roster spots but only 12 players on yahoo.
The 3 spots are for situations like Holiday and Bosh. Though I know financially ... that doesn't give you any relief.

Re: Hoops Free Agent Talk
Hey fellas,
On my salary sheet, it says Harrison barnes is $4/$4/$4/$6.3.
Shouldn't the 19-20 be set at $4 since the contract was 4 years $16M?

Re: Hoops Free Agent Talk
ok so i need to go through the rules more. Thanks for the owners who clarified that i can't trade someone i just signed right away...

Re: Hoops Free Agent Talk
Actually, I think you can. I didn't find it in the rules which is surprising since it's in all the other leagues. You can't trade someone you just matched but no one bid on Barnes so you didn't have to match him.
So I think you can trade Barnes too.

Darn it, I forgot. Okay according to the rules, you can't trade someone you matched until January 1st

Re: Hoops Free Agent Talk
What is the timeframe to perform a sign and trade on barnes? I bid and he matched, is it the free agency period where we can work a sign and trade? I don't see that I'm the rules
