Hockey Status

Hey guys!

I know the NHL season just ended this week, but I wanted to start talking about the status of the league for next season. I know JI and Matt both decided that they are done with hockey. Is anyone else going to be departing? Darrin, are you still game for running the league? I know we have tons of trouble finding new owners during the season, do we think we will have better luck? I love the hockey league, but I trouble seeing a 12-team league going forward.

I know Jeff (Green Bay) is taking over a team and we have another friend that would like to get in.

I'd rather keep the league running and 12 men if possible

I say give 12 tms one more season & contract to 10 if we have trouble

Ya i am down for running it again this season. If i remember correctly we had 3 teams available and 3 replacements sorta picked out (Green Bay, Dustin's friend, and sam's friend) I will get the contract page updated sometime in the next week so we can start setting up for next year.

After i get the contracts page set up we can start getting the new owners in place and then begin setting up the rookie draft. As of now i do not have a date in place but the real draft takes place June 22nd and 23rd.

Start thinking of ideas or suggestions for any changes you guys would like to see implemented.

The teams avaliable as far as i know are Albuquerque, Calgary and possibly one more?

I want to give Jeff first choice since he is in another league and we can hopefully count on him more than these newer guys.

Yea actually, Jeff and I were talking about the hockey league at a party last week with my buddy Neal and Neal really wanted in.

I told him I wasn't sure if we had a spot. He would be a good guy to get in the league regardless as he would be like Jeff...once he saw how cool the format is here...he would be one to take over other teams in the other leagues.

So if Matt still wants to quit hockey, Neal would do a good job...or he would do a good job with JI's team.

Great news out of all! It looks like the 12-team league will live on!

I also made a tab for all the guys that were released just incase anyone wanted to see the new FA's.

Ya if Neal wants in, its first come first serve starting now.

Albuquerque, Calgary and Chicago are the available teams.
Jeff can pick whatever team out of those that he would like to take and then the other two are up for grabs.
Whoever gets on forums and posts an intro with which team they are taking over gets it (after Jeff picks of course). If we have an excess of guys wanting to join we will put them on the waiting list in case someone drops.

Okay just talked to him. We actually didn't get time to register him because the basketball game ran late last night and we were at the bar.

I thought he needed an invite. I forgot he had to register. He will do it today.

Chicago is the last team that needs an owner!

I saw a few new registered users signed up recently but idk if any of that was for hockey.

Once we get that final owner for Chicago's team then we can start the draft pretty much once everyone is ready. Or we could wait until closer to the season like the end of August to see a better picture of where guy will be.

But i am all for setting up the draft and having no time limit on picks once we get the final replacement owner for Chicago

No luck from me on a new Chicago owner.

I think I found a replacement owner for Chicago. Went the yahoo message board route and searched and found someone who seemed like a fit.

He should be signing up soon.
