FCC Playoff - Second Round Summary
I was out of town yesterday and it looks like you guys already discussed this but.... On Sunday with a little over 1 game to go both matchups were tied and all 4 teams still had a real chance!
Philly/Detroit ended in a 5-4 victory for Philly. The Philly goalies, mostly Rinne, came through big with 4 wins and a GAA of 1.97. Phil Kessel had 5 points and a +5 rating helping Darrin survive a down week from Ovechkin. Giroux was also a star with 19 shots on the week. Since these teams tied in power-play points and shots Detroit was 1 power-play goal away from winning the matchup. A lot of this years trades kept Detroit relevant. He got 4 points from Stamkos, 12 PIMs and 15 hits from Matt Martin, and another 14 hits from Boychuk.
Akron/Buffalo was an even crazier finish with late goals against both goalies costing the matchup for Akron. He was playing from behind after Buffalo opened up Monday with yet another shutout from an average goalie, this time it was Pavelec instead of Andersen. Buffalo's Calgary players cooled down but the slack was picked up by Palat who had 6 points, Yandle had 4, and Ekman-Larsson who had 16 PIMs. Akron got 5 points from Toffoli and 4 from Eberle but was 1 assist short from tieing the matchup.
Buffalo turned over every player on his team once and got half of the draft picks. He then declared he was not going to win this year and traded everyone again to get the rest of the draft picks. For the sake of all of us we need Philly to win.
Although many of us can take some blame, I will apologize for giving Buffalo a .5 point a game Kopitar in exchange for nothing. He turned Kopitar back into a 1+ point per game player, traded him for a big profit, and now Kopitar is back under 1 point per game(but close). It is either crazy luck or Buffalo is way out of our league. This conflict of interest means I hope Philly wins and Kopitar has 6+ points!

All the locker room reports say Silfverberg and Johanson were happy to be given a shot against their former team. While Miller was reportedly disappointed he took the extra money to sign in Arkon.
UFA signings Blake Comeau and Zach Smith are hoping to fill the shoes of the trade departed Eriksson and Stempiank in the finals vs Philly.

Re: FCC Playoff - Second Round Summary
or if it doesn't you have tie breakers. I was hoping for a shut out. I broke my own rule with andersen, if you dont start the game, i usually take you out of the lineup. I was too worried about goalie game played so I didn't do that, its going to cost me.

Re: FCC Playoff - Second Round Summary
yea, but that GWG gives you the tie, and than the tiebreaker. Damn you for matching my Backes bid.
I need Roy to pull the goalie now, and get the Avs a goal.

I've been flipping back and forth between the Jets and Blues games. I just saw Silfverberg had a goal not count because they couldn't see the puck past the line.
